What is Counselling?

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to share the issues and feelings that are giving you cause for concern. It can be difficult to talk to friends and family as they are sometimes too close and you may feel that you are being judged or pressured towards a particular course of action even if this is not their intension.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor I will help and support you to work through these feelings in a safe and accepting environment. You will feel listened to, accepted without judgement and together we will work to find solutions to your issues and acceptance of your thoughts and beliefs.

People choose counselling for a variety of reasons some of these can be issues with family or relationships which are especially difficult to discuss with people who are close to you. Depression and anxiety can cause you to feel isolated, alone and very low which is difficult to find a way out of on your own. Issues around anger can cause problems in all your relationships and I can help you to explore the underlying cause and help you to find ways to manage the overwhelming feelings.
